PAT Testing

PAT Testing is the common name for the in-service inspection and testing of electrical equipment.  Having electrical appliances regularly inspected and tested
is the easiest way for an employer or landlord to satisfy the Electricity at Work Regulations, which state that:

"As may be necessary to prevent danger, all systems shall be maintained
so as to prevent, so far as is reasonably practicable, such danger."

Kent Security and Electrical offer our PAT testing service across the Medway Towns, Dartford, Maidstone and the surrounding areas of Kent.  We can set
up a regular inspection and testing program, or just a one-off service as and when you need it.  We are happy to accommodate  everything from a small
rental flat to a large office or factory site, testing everything from 110V power tools to a toaster in an office kitchen to built in appliances.

It is a common misconception that it is only portable appliances that require inspection and testing.  In fact, all appliances whether they are connected to
the electrical supply via a plug or are hard-wired into a fused connection unit require testing.  This may include stationary appliances - such as a
dishwasher, washing machine or even a built-in electric cooker.  This type of appliance will usually need to be disconnected from the electrical supply for
testing to take place - this must only be done by somebody competent to carry out the safe isolation proceedures that are necessary.
