Kent Security and Electrical are a registered NICEIC Approved Contractor to install, test and certify all electrical systems.

We carry out all forms of work from adding an extra socket or light to a full rewire.

The most common types of electrical work we do are:

  • Additional socket outlets
  • Connecting a new boiler,shower or cooker
  • Fitting smoke/fire/heat alarm systems
  • Installing outdoor power
  • Installing electrics in an extension/loft conversion
  • Installing downlighting
  • Installing extractor fans
  • Fitting security lighting
  • Replacement light fittings

All our electrical work is carried out in compliance with British Standard 7671 (17th edition) wiring regulations.  We will also issue a certificate to proove compliance with Part P of the building regulations. Upon completion of the work you will also be given details of results of a series of tests that must be conducted on the circuit(s) worked on to ensure their safety.

We offer great value for money - top-quality service at realistic prices.  Due to the nature of electrical work we need to visit your property to check on the current state of the electrics before we can give you an estimate of the cost of the work you require.  We work 7 days a week and we do try to arrange to visit you the same day when possible or whenever is convenient for you.  This estimate is, of course, done without charge and is on a no-obligation basis.  Where necessary we will calculate the cost of the materials and labour and supply you with a written estimate of the cost which will be valid for 30 days.  If you decide to go ahead with the work after 30 days we made need to recalculate the cost of some materials (the price of copper cable does fluctuate).

We take as much care in the smaller jobs, such as fitting a new socket, as we do in a complete house rewire.  If we fit a new socket or a new light fitting it will be tested and you will be issued with a certificate to confirm it's compliance with building regulations in the same way a much larger job would.  Electrical safety is of critical importance and even the smallest addition or alteration to the household electrics must be fully inspected and tested as set out in the wiring regulations - something that most handymen who advertise electrical work are unaware of.  Please read our page on Part P of the building regulations for more information.
